Top Northern Michigan Golf Courses

Northern Michigan golf courses are some of the top rated in the country. Located in Tuscan style settings it's easy to understand their attraction. Several offer their own accommadations with all the amenities, or you can choose to stay in one of the many spectacular resorts or lodges.

There are three nine hole courses that are "must play" located along Little Traverse Bay (close to Petoskey and Charlevoix). The Links is comparable to a great Irish seaside course. The Quarry boasts stone cliffs, waterfalls, and a natural pond. The Preserve is a wildlife haven, with wildflowers and wetlands that allow you to play through the heart of nature.

The Crooked Tree course in Boyne is unforgetable, especially the back nine that open up to stunning views of Little Traverse Bay and Lake Michigan.

The Grand Traverse Bay area has one of the top courses in the country ... The Bear. Designed by Jack Nicklaus it is one of the midwests toughest. Surounded by lakes, hardwood forests, and a mix of fruit orchards, Chi Chi Rodriguez said "this is the way golf courses should be designed". A great resort to stay in while here is the luxurious Grand Traverse Resort.

You will find The Leelanau Club at Bahle farm in the middle of leelanau Penninsula's wine country. With spectacular views of Suttons Bay and Lake Michigan be sure and take some time (after golfing) and enjoy the many wineries of the region. The Ciccone Vineyards, owned by Madonna's father, are located close by and you may find him in the tasting room.


With breathtaking views of Lake Michigan Arcadia Bluffs is one of the most popular public courses in the state. The "Nantucket" style clubhouse offers full-service dining and pro Shop. If you can have your meal on the deck ... you will be captivated by the view.
